The Sydney povlion of the cargo of frozen mutton ex steamship Lusitania has been sold at the average price of 5d per U>. The debate m the House of Commons on the Contagious Diseases (animals) Bill was resumed to-day, when the Government agreed to withdraw the amendments to the Bill rs passed by ' the House of Lords and to accept a vote of the House on the measure. A disastrous fire occurred m the Queens Road to-day, resulting m the total destruction of the premises occupied by William Whitely, whose stores m Westbourne Grove were destroyed m a similar manner m Nov. 1882. The loss is estimated at £500,000. An attempt was made to-day to distroy the bariaeks at Dublin by an ex-r plosion, but the infernal machine which was intended for the purpose, exploded abortively, and but little damage was done. Discoveries have b<>en made of active plotting among the Fenians at Dublin, m which it is .believed the projected destruction of the. barracks was to have played* an important part Detailed; plans for an organised rising, lists of persons interested, and arms were unearthed m a garden attached to the house owtecl and occupied by Patrick E«an. The police effected the arrest of Egan who was brought up at the Police Court to-day and remmanded. ■ The following are the names of Lord Sheffield's team who open the series of matches m England against- the Australian Eleven at Sheffield on May 12, ]3, and 14, Grace, Greenfield, Shaw, Hide, Phillips, Shrewsbury, Barnes, Barlow, Ulyett, Harrison, and Miscroft. ■',
