■ « i (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Nelson, May 26. The football match — Wellington v. Nelson — was played to-day. The weather was fine, and the ground in good order. A large number of spectators were present. The game was hardly contested throughout. Nelsou had slightly the best of it all through, and eventually won by one try to nil. Chkistchurch, May 26. The football match — Wellington Athletic Club v. Christchurch — was a splendid contest, the latter winning by one try. There was no goab on either side.
