Wellington Markets.
Wellington Saturday Morning. Business generally has not been particularly active during the' past week, although the imports landed m Wellington have been large. Colonial Produce^ — George Thomas reports produce prices as follows : —The weather has interferied with business-, and trade has been somewhat hand-to-mouth. A cargo of potatoes was placed at 555. sacks m. Quantifies of fowls' wheat are coming to hand j good samples are only saleable, and prices have reduced to 2s 7d to 2s 9d. Oats, 2s 5d to 2s 7d, market full. Flour has received slight injury at j former rates ; I hear of various shipments from South at L 8 15s f.o.b. Oatmeal, from Ll2 ; bran, L 4 15s, source ; pollard, L 5 to L 5 10s ; barley, 2s 6d ; kidney seed potatoes, L 5 ; beans, 3s 9d to 4s ; peas, 3s 9d ; maize, 4s 9d ; cheese, 5d ; hams and bacon, 9d all round; fresh butter, lid to Is; salt do, not inquired for; eggs,, fairl y active at 1 s 9 d . Turkeys, 9s ; fowls, 3s 6d ; ducks, 4s.
