Major Kitchener with an escort of 40 Bedouin Irregular* started from Korosko to proceed to Dongola with a view of definitely ascertaining the position of affairs at that place. The Mudir of Dongola is strongly .suspected of .disloyalty and complicity with, the rebel loaders.
London, July 24. Telegrams to hand from Suakira state that reports have reaohed then to the effect that General Gordon if making constant sallies from Khar* fcoum by means of armed steamers on the Nile and with such effect that the rebels m the neighborhood are panio* stricken.
