The Wakitipu Election.
(UKITBD PRESS ASSOCIATION.) .Dunedin, July 24. A rather peculiar incident occurred m connection with the Wakatipu •election. Mr Ferguß- was removed to the Franklyn Hospital, and while there he was waited on with a request to address the patients. The request came from a man who.se arm had just been amputated. The chairman, who had boih his hands and feet frostbitten, was appointed because he could not applaud. The most of the audience were m bed, and the • candidate was on crutches aud had one leg m a sling. The hospital, it may be staged was a. polling booth, so that the patients who ha-.l the fran-' chise could exercise their privilege.
