(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Napier, July 29. J. M. Girdlestone, traveller for Swan's brewery, shot himself either by accident or design at Petane today. He was seen to fall, but wheu picked up was quite dead. Girdlestone had just been dismissed from his employment, and is known to have been heavily involved financially. '. Later — This Day. It is believed that Girdleston's death was accidental, to which effect the verdict was returned.
