Political Mews.
(Special to the Chronicle.) Wellington, August 28. A Ministry has been foimed at last. This afternoon Major Atkinson submitted to the Governor the names of the following, who were sworn m : — Major Atkinson, Premier; Mr Mitchelson, Public Works ; Hon. G. McLean, Trade and Ou.stoins and roprespntative of the Government m the Upper House ; Mr Wakefield, Colonial Secretary ; Captain Russell, Postmaster-General ; Mr Hursthouse, Land and Agriculture. Ihere are two appointments yet to be filled up, the Treasury being one, and the other a Minister without portfolio. It is reported that either Fulton or Fergus will l>e the Minister, with the view of taking the Educational Department before long. Mr Stout at once gave! notice that he would move a vote of confidence, on the ground that it was the old Atkinson Ministry. This Major Atkinson flatly denied, and challenged discussion of it at any time. A motion for temporary supply was carried. People generally suspend their expression of opinion about the new Ministry. At present they seem likely to pull through the want of confidence motion.
