Mr Stout said that, m anticipation of the delivery of the .Public "Works Statement and passingof the Estimates, the Government had determined upon passing the following as policy bills :— East and West Coast (Middle Island) and Nelson Railway, District Bail ways Leasing and Purchasing, Government Insjurcnee Association, the West Coast Harbour Bills. Government would explain as to the other bills on the Order Paper at a future day. \ MIDDLE ISLAND BAILWAY. ( Mr Wakefield resumed tbe debate oil tho second reading of the East and West Coast (Middle Island') and Nelson Railway Bill. After a long debate the second reading was carried by 39 to 12.
