Serious Accident.
LITTLE GIRL RUN OVER BY A TRAIN.
(united press association.) Dunedht, Oct. 22. A serious accident decuned at Ravensbourne to day, to a little girl eleven years ef age, named Melita Mullenger. Slio ! was engaged plucking flowers on the railway bank, and fell on to the line just as the midday train from Palmerston was passing. Nothing could be done to save her, and one of the carriages passed over her left leg completely crushing it. She was immediately conveyed m the same train to the Dunedin Hospital, where the limb was amputated below the thigh. The train coining coming round, the corner startled her so much that she fell. No blame whatever is attached to the engine driver
