Stevens and Gorton's Report.
Wchavcheld three stock sales during the last week. At Cheltenham'on Tursday 16th' when we yarded 86 head of cattle and 400 sheep. At Awahuii on Friday 17th we yarded 124 head of cattle and 200 sheep. At Bulls on the 21st we yarded over 300 head of cattle and about 500 sheep. The attendance at the first and last places was very good but at Awahuri not so large as usual. The bidding for the cattle excepting the bullocks, at Bulls, for which there was keen competition was duller than of late but there was a good demand for sheep, and several buyers showed up at Cheltenham for the wethers sold there. We sold most of the caltle at Cheltenham and all the sheep excepting a small pen of 80. At Awahuri we sold all the sheep and a portion of the cattle. At Bulls we sold all the sheep excepting a pen, of 81, and half the cattle, the majority o,i the female stock we were unable to quit. ! The following are the prices realized at Cheltenham : — lB-months to j 2-year-old steers, £2 17s 6d; cows and heifers, £1 7s «6d to £1 10s; fat heifers, £4 ; forward wethers, 12s. At Awahuri— B ef, £8 ; 3-year-old heifers, £2 12s 6d; yearliugs mixed, £1 10s; fat heifers £4 6s ; forward sheep, including some hoggets, 10s ldj fat sheep, 12s 9d, ■
At Bulls— Bullocks, £6 2s; 3 and 4-yonr-oUI bullocks, £5 12s 6d; 3-year-old steer?-, £3 15s; yearling* and 18 mouths mixed, 27s 6J ; milch cu.yvs, £3 ll}3 ; fat wothow, 1 3s; hoggets, 9s 2d to 10-< 3d ; 4* tooth wether*, 10d 6«J; poultry, 2s to 2s 6d oaeh ; unbroken draft colts, £13 ; Hacks, £5 15s.
