The votes for local works on the Public Works Estimates are as follows, including liabilities:—Rail-ways—Napier-Woodville, —£14,666; Wellington - Woodville, —£28,643; Foxton-New Plymouth, —£22, 875. Permanent way, sleepers, and rolling stock — Woodville-Napier, £11,085; Wellington-Woodville, £11,181; Foxton-New Plymouth, £12,824. Roads— Seventy-Mile Bush, £4000 ; Manawatu Gorge, £600; sundry roads and bridges, £300. There are also votes simply to cover liabilities of £1000 for bridge over Wangaehu, £279 for inland raad, Foxton to Otaki, and £268 for grant in aid towards bridge over Manawatu River.
