(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DIJNEDIN, Nov. 17. The New Zealand Refrigeiating Company's works at Burnside are keeping m full work, although the present hot weather adds to the difficulties of freezing. The Victory contract for 5500 carcases is ready and waiting for shipment, aud a consignment for the new steamer K«ikoura is being prepared. The works are steadily turning out from 300 to 400 frozen carcases per day. Chkistchurch, Nov. 17. The Customs inquiry into the loss of the barque Clyde was held to-day. The only witness was the survivor, George Henry G-il«on, whose eridence was the same m substance as the accounts previously telegraphed* He is going to the Bluff by the Riugarootna to join the barque Sharp* shooter, belonging to the same owner as the Clyde. Auckland, Nov. 17. The City of Sydney brought no apples for this port, but had 10,312 cases on board, for Sydney, notwithstanding the codiin moth. Sir John Hall is m excellent health, and spent Saturday evening with Sir F. Whitaker. He returns to England next January. Nov. 18. Mr Roehefort and assistant surveyors, for the main trunk railway, arrived from the Sou tb to-day.
