Mr G. L. Goldfinch, of Toanui, near ,?eilding, writes as follows to the Wellington paper : — I have just been reading that portion of your issue concerning the Tichborne claimant and the ship -Qaorey' and dpj^t- ♦»■•*-«- *iiortrwin.De much "trouble m proving that a ship' of that name visited Port Phillip m February, 1846. I sailed m the Steadfast, emigrant ship, which left on 16th October, 1848. We were a whole week m company with the Osprey, which ship was bound for Port Phillip. The two captains visited each other's ship. We afterwards learned that the Osprey reached her destination the same day we reached Sydney. The Oaprey was painted stone color, and we were close enough to reod her name. Perhaps throngh Mr Bryce, 5 our' late Native Minister, you may get more information upon the subject, as his uncle, who was living m Melbourne m 1856, was one of our passengers, and I have no doubt will recollect all I , have stated above.
