The journey was a pleasant trip throughout and the scenery" was greatly" admired. The newly-opened portion of the line run over very smeothly. The: cuttings 'are very heavy and perpendicular., The country m the vicinity of the mountain very similar to that round Manawaiu. All" New Plymouth was at the races, though the day was nat a general holiday. The weather is very favorable for a turf fathering. . [
