We were disappointed however m many sheep and catlie which had been duly entered but not brought forward, which elicited the following remarks from our auctioneer : — " That vendors of stock m many instances exorcised the privilege it' possible, of disposing of their entries prior to dato of sale, which undoubtedly militated against cattle auction sales, and although the commissions were duly paid did not prevent serious disappointment to buyers who did attend the sale for the purpose of purchasing. This m Saturday's sala shewed itself very conspicuously and he hoped m future that vendors would m all cases bring their entries to the yards. In reference to some of the sheep which were not present he found that the Inspector had instructed the vendors to dip before hringing them to any saleyard." The following prices were realized : — Bre ding ewes, 9s 6d to 10s 3d ; cillod b\vus, 6s 7d to 8s 71 : 2-year .s l tiers, (indilferunl), J£2 10s ; woantsrs 20s.
