Photographing in the Interior.

The New Zealand Herald has the following account of the recent trip of Mr Burton up the Wanganui River arid- through the King Country to : — ** Mr A. H. Burton, the well known photographer for the firm/ of Burton Brothers, photographers, Dunedin, 'arrived in town from Wanganui by the Waikato train on "Wednesday night, having come right through the heart of the King County; . He accompanied Mr RochfdrtpEngfineer of the North Island Trunk Railway, and party. They took canoe at Upokongaro, seven mile3 from Wanganui, up the Wanganui River, and were sixteendayapaddland pulling up the river until reaching Taumaranui, where the railway line strikes the river, close to the scene of the Moffat murder. From that point the party proceeded overland, along what, generally speaking, will be. the North Island -Trunk line of railway to Kihikihi. As showing the great and substantial strides made towards the pacification of the country, Mr Burton cairied his camera and photographed in all ditectiona through a country where^ eigh teen months, or two years ago, a European's life was not worth an , hour's . purchase. This trip of Mr Burton's will enable i.im to make thtf public familiar with the scenery of a ' territory which has hitherto been, practically, a terra incognita. The vievr3 which have been ta en will form a series to be called " The Maori at Home."
