DISCUSSION AT THE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

At the Borough- Council meeting on Wednesday evening, when the proposal for new municipal buildings was being discussed, Cr West said that it was merely to please the Town Cle.rk, ; aud that giving the Piiblic Works Committee anything to do was merely treating them as a marrionette show. Cr Snelson said that he was surprised that Cr West should pass such remarks about the Town Clerk. He had nothing whatever to do with the resolution be* fore them. . Cr Hawkins also stated that he knew nothing about the plans until he came there that evening. Cr Waldegrave said that Cr West's remarks were quite uncalled for. Cr Rush said that he believed that the committee did their best, but he noticed that Cr Abrahams had a continual bickering with -Cr West, which he thought was uncalled for. Cr West made some more disparaging remarks on the Town Clerk, and was called to order by the Chairman, who said that every Cr at the table had disagreed wiih the objectionable remarks passed, and he thought that Cr West should make a most hnmhlo apology to the Towu Clerk for what he had 'said.
