Extraordinary Accident.

MIRACULOUS ESCAPE. A most remarkable accident occurred recently m the dyeing department of the Manchester Priot Woik«, Mauches I or, U:iited States. James B. Trinity, ft you «c: man about 17 years of age, was ii rugged headforemost through a space between two revolving cylinders. The rolhrs are only thros inches apart, and limi the material been anything else but copper, the body would have been crashed to a jvlly. As it was, the coppct being thin, yielded to the pressure brought to bear upon it, and Trinity escaped. But his escape, even under tli! as circumstances, was remarkable. I- i» Dot known how lie happened to be *:;.!!:: lit jn the machinery. Probably «.ne hand was seized first, and by this he was drngged m. He seemed to have entered sideways. It was over ten minutes before he was rescued. The machinery had to be stopped, and two cyhnd-rs taken out before he could be extricated. The whole length of his body, from bflad to foot, had passed through the rollers. Had there been stvarn on m (he cylinders, as there generally is, Trinity would have been burned n/denth. The cylinders are about 20in m diameter, nnd madn entirely of copper. When Trinity was taken out he was unconscious, bnt he soon revived, though unable to walk. No bones were broken, but how much injured he may be internally has not yet transpired.
