WOODVILLE FATALITY
FLOCK HOUSE BOY’S DEATH. CHARGE AGAINST CAR DRIVER. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. [Special to “Standard.”] WOODVILLE, Dec. 3. At the Police Court this morning, before Messrs 11. Galbraith and G. J. Goldfinch, J.’sP., John Drummond:, of Dannovirke, _ was charged with negligently driving a motor car, thereby cansing the death of George Vinton, same being an indictable offence. The charge was the sequel to the accident on tiro main road near Woodville recently when accused’s car knocked down Vinton, an ex-Flock House boy, the latter dying subsequently from injuries. Mr Cooper, of Palmerston North, and Mr Dorrington, of Dannevirke, appeared for Drummond, and evidence on lines simila-r to that tendered at the inquest recently was heard. Accused was committed for trial at tho next session of the Palmerston North Supreme Court, bail being allowed in self £IOO and a surety of a similar amount.
