COUSIN OF THE KING
DEATH OF PRINCESS FREDERICA ' BIARRITZ, Oct. 9. Princess Prederica of England, died at her residence, Mouriscqt, at four o’clock this morning. Her death came as a surprise, for on the previous day the Princess, who was 78 years old, had been for a motor drive. On returning home, however, she complained of feeling tired, and about three o’clock in the morning was taken very ill. She suffered greatly before the end, but refused to utter a word of complaint. Princess Frederica, Baroness Von Pawel Rammingen, was a Princess of the United Kingdom, being second cousin of King George through Ernest, Duke of Cumberland, King of Hanover, her father. She was born at Hanover on January 9, 1848, and married in 1880 Alphonse, Baron Von Pawel Rammingen, hon. colonel 6th Battalion, Essex Regiment. The Prince of Wales, during his recent golfing holiday at the Cote d’Azure, visited the Princess and took tea with her.
