BANDS OF HOPE

PRIZES PRESENTED. Alembers of the combined Bands of Hope spent a pleasant evening in St. Andrew’s Memorial Hall last night when prizes won in the recent competitions were presented. Rev. G. T. Brown, ALA., president o,f the young peoples’ committee, presided over a large gathering. An interesting address on “Wanted, A Boy” was given by Pastor J. J. Franklin, who afterwards distributed the prizes. In addition to the prize-winners whose names have-already been published, the following received special awards: Cuba Street Alethodist, 2457, highest aggregate; Broad Street Alethodist, 1899, runners-up; Miss A. Tiley (St. Andrew’s), Air G. H. Bennett’s prize for most points in all classes; Alaster Eric Alarton (Church of Christ), runner-up; Alaster Scott (Salvation Army), Alls S. Kingston’s prize. During the evening the following items were contributed:—Pianoforte solos, Isabel Simpson and Edna Foley; recitations, Muriel Hancox, Doris Porteus, Alarjory Whitehead, Margaret Beale, Dorothy Pratt, Alelva Day;_ vocal solo. Aliss Alolly Jones. Two instrumental items were also contributed by the Salvation Army young people. On the motion of Rev. H. T. Pent, a vote of thanks was accorded the speaker for the evening and chairman.
