GUN CLUB.
SATURDAY’S MATCHES.
Perfect weather prevailed for the Palmerston North Gun Club’s shoot on Saturday afternoon, and upwards of 20 competitors attended, including visitors from the Tokomaru Gun Club.
Tho first event was the third cup match, for which there were 14 competitors. A. Thomson and P. A. Meehan, both with ten on, divided the money. Nines were returned by W. W. Cook, T. Donald and H. Best. For a trophy presented by Mr*G. Luoni, K. Thomson and P. Meehan both scored the possible (ten), the latter winning the shoot-off on the 13th bird. The only nine returned was by A. Thomson. The final event —a sweepstake (first miss out) —went to 23 birds before a decision was reached, A. Thomson winning from C. A. Rofe.
