SHARKS IN AUCKLAND.
TWO LARGE SPECIMENS. ONE WEIGHS 400 POUNDS. AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. The catching of sharks within the harbour is not uncommon nowadays, but an unusual experience befell Mr S. A. Tilly, of Ponsonby road, yesterday afternoon, when lie caught two large specimens within half an hour while fishing from the end of the Ponsonby wharf. Mr Tilly hooked three sharks, but one escaped. Those capt' lt d were a male and finale. The larger fi:b, whiMi was of the grey nurse variety, was 9ft in iengrli and 4ft bin in girth. it weighed 4001 b. The other shark was Bft 9in in length, but was considerably smaller in girth than its companion. The fish were landed after being played for about 15 minutes each. ,
