The course was in excellent order. Results: South Island Middle-weight Championship, 10 miles.—A Lemon (Napier), 2J h.p,, 1; N. AVebbey (Marlborough), 3* h.p., 2; J. Hore (Christchurch), 3£ li.p., 3. Won from end to end. Time, 9min. 20 3-osec. Nelson-Marlborough Cup, 8 miles.— L. Elliott (Nelson), 2J h.p., 1; A. Orchard (Marlborough), 8 h.p. 2; P. Hillman (Marlborough), 3J h.p., 3. Eleven starters.' AVon by a good margin, lime, Bmin. 8 4-ssec.
Blenheim Light-weight, 5 miles.—J. chapman (Nelson), 2J li.p., 1; J. Eynemore (Nelson), 2J h.p., 2; A. Lemon, 2J h.p., 3. Ten started. AA 7 on handsomely'. Time, Gniin. 35 3-ssec. Marlborough Cup, 8 miles. —PI. Collie (Marlborough), 2 li.p., 1; J. McInnes (Nelson), 2J h.p., 2; P. Hillman (Marlborough), 2$ h.p., 3. Eleven started, including H. Mangham, who was credited unofficially with doing a mile in 50sec. AA r on easily. Time, Bmi.n. 48sec.
Brooklands Handicap, 5 miles.—D. Shaw (Christchurch), 2J h.p., 1; H. Morgan (Greytown), 2j h.p., 2; P. Hillman, 3} h.p., 3. Thirteen started. AVon by two yards. Mangham was fourth. Time, smin. 2 2-ssec. Consolation Handicap, 5 miles.—H. Mangham (AVellington), 7-9 h.p., 1; R. Hore (Christchurch), 31 li.p., 2; N. AVebbey, 3J li.p., 3. Six started. The best race of the day, Mangham winning by a hundred yards, second and third men close • together. Time, 4min. 23 l-ssec.
