Fifty were killed and 500 injured.—A. and N.Z. cable. TRADE DISCUSSION. BRITISH AND GERMAN DELEGATES. GREAT CORDIALITY MANIFESTED Received December 6, 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 5. A conference of delegates of British and German Federations of Industries in London issued a communique stating that it was agreed that a detailed discussion on tariffs is at present premature, but that preparatory work is possible. The conference also discussed plans for an interchange of information relating to costs of production. The communique adds: “Though the work was entirely exploratory the greatest cordiality was manifested. The discussion showed that the field for co-operation is wider than was anticipated.”—A. and .N.Z. cable.
