FAKED MEMOIRS.
“WHISPERING GALLERY” CHARGES.
LONDON, Dec. 5. The hearing of the charge againsl Hesketh Pearson of false pretences in connection with the publication of “Whispering Gallery” has been resumed.
Allen Lane (of the publishing firm of John Lane) said Pearson had told him he had written tho book from Sir Rennell Rodd’s diary, with Sir Rennell’s approval. The hearing was adjourned until next Saturday, when it is expected Sir Rennell Rodd’s evidenco will be taken. —A. and N.Z. cable.
