MISSING DETECTIVE SUR - RENDERS. MELBOURNE, Dec. 5, Ex-Detective Fowler surrendered to the police, by whom he is charged with conspiracy and theft, and was remanded on bail till December 9th.— Press Association. With three other members of the Victorian detective force, Fowler was charged with conspiracy and theft of £IOOO, and demanding with menaces, £6500 from Terence Callaghan, licensee of the Londonderry Hotel, C'ollingwood. Before the prisoners came to trial Fowler disappeared.
