WATCHMAN SURPRISED. MADE TO DO HOURLY ROUND. Received December 7 12.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Dee. 6. Three robbers entered Mannhoimer’s department store at St. Paul and surprised and handcuffed the watchman. While they leisurely looted the safes they made him do his hourly round ringing the signal boxes, thus avoiding the automatic alarms.
They carried off £BOOO in cash and securities.—A. and N.Z. cable.
