YALLOURN STRIKE.
HOPES FOR SETTLEMENT. Received December 7, 10.25 a.m. AIELBOURNE, Dec- 7. The strike positiop at Yallourn is unchanged, but a conference between the commissioners and the Trades Hall disputes committee has been arranged for to-day. Both sides are hopeful that a settlement will be reached.
The cessation of coal cutting operations will begin to affect the powerhouse after the end of this week unless a settlement is reached. Restrictions on the consumption of electricity will then be enforced.—Press Association.
