OLD MAN’S DEATH.

FOUND WITH THROAT CUT. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 7. At six o’clock this morning John Churchill Day, 68 years of age, was found in the bathroom of tho house where he resided, in Harris street, Linwood, with his throat badly gashed. He had had a stroke four months ago, and had been in a very depressed condition ever since. He was practioally a paralytic. When found he was still alive, and was taken to the Christchurch Hospital, where ho died at 12.30. No traco was found of the weapon with which the act was committed.
