CUSTOMS REGULATIONS. DECLARATIONS NECESSARY. CHANGE NEXT YEAR. Received December 8, 10.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 8. From the beginning of the New Year the Customs regulations for the examination of, passengers’ luggage from overseas will be made more rigid. Up to the present the practice has been to obtain a verbal statement from passengers whether they havo anything in their luggage subject to duty, only occasional packages being examined. It is now proposed that every passenger shall make a statutory declaration on arrival, enumerating all the articles contained in his luggage.— Press Association.
