ORDERS FOR BUTTER
SENT FROM AUSTRALIA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. Owing to the drought in—certain parts of Australia orders have been piaced lately for New Zealand butter for Australia, and the prices offered have risen from Is 3d until business has been done at Is 41Jd, f.o.b. New Zealand ports, for finest. Australia requires butter of 82 per cent, butterfat, as compared with 80 in New Zealand. Taking the named quotation in London for finest New Zealand board controlled Putter as 170 s per cwt., equal to Is 4.31 d, f.o.b. New Zealand ports, the Australian price of Is 4}d, f.o.b. New Zealand ports, is a 6hade better.
