CHORAL SOCIETY.

FREE PERFORMANCE FOR CHILDREN. DECISION IN AUCKLAND. [By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.] AUCKLAND, Dec. 8. A praiseworthy step has been taken by the Auckland Choral Society in its decision to give a free performance of “The Messiah” to children on Sunday, December 19.

It will be held in the Town Hall and a ful 1 , fhoir will assist the soloists. Arrangements have also been made for the organ to be used, and the performance from the musical point of view should prove to be of great educational value to the children. The schools are being asked to assist in making the performance a success by ensuring a good attendance.
