SCOTTISH INGLESIDE.

The last ingleside of the season under the auspices of the Manawatu Scottish Society took place at the Municipal Hall last evening, when a large number of members and their friends participated in songs and old time dancing. The ingleside was specially arranged for the benefit of the Manawatu Highland Pipe Band funds, the members of the band being in attendance in full uniform. In a speech during the supper period, Mr R. Edwards praised the ladies’ committee for their work during the year, emphasising,- that the success attained by the society was mainly due to their efforts. Mr R. Reaburn was M.C., and Mr D. Alexander heted as chaiiman. Accompaniments were played by Mrs Boon, Miss Daisy Raleigh and Messrs Lovenz, Jefferies and Reaburn. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought an enjoyable evening to a close. The following contributed to the programme:—Songs, “My Pretty Jane,” “Bonnie Mary of Argylo,” Mr G. F. Hubble: “I put on my coat and Went Home,” “Sneezing Song,” Mr W. Young: “Flowers of all the World,” “Still as the Night,” Mrs C. Findlay; “The Veteran. ,T “True Till Death,” Mr J. Raleigh; recitations, » Mrs Creighton, Mr C. Gallacher and Miss Verona Jeffries; dancing exhibitions, Misses Kinnimont and Jeffrie3.
