WOOL MARKETS.
TO-DAY’S SALE AT NAPIER,
SPIRITED OPENING. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Dec. 10. The second wool sale of the season opened spiritedly, between 50 and 60 buyers competing and taking Oo pex cent, of the first catalogue of 4o(X> bales in just under an hour. The bidding, though brisk, was erratic, but generally speaking prices were at pai to id advance on the last Napier sale. The better class wools showed the biggest advance, this being due to the American competition. • Bradfoid led the market, with the Continent i tinning up. l<’rance was very active on better style pieces, and Japan demanded a certain amount of crutchings. A noticeable feature was the acqusitions of the Dominion mills, which came to the fore frequently for their style of pieces. Southdown fetched up to 17Jd, Romney lambs obtaining up to 15id. Coarse halfbred also brought up to 15Jd- Pieces and bellies told well from par to id advance. Locks were not much in demand. Crutclnngs were on a par with last sale.
