YOUNG MAN’S DEATH.
Per Press Association. NEW PLYAIOUTH, Sept. 7. William Clement Allen, aged 21 years, died, apparently from exhaustion, on Alt. Egmont late on Sunday afternoon. He collapsed near Humphries Castle on the return to North Egmont from a tramp. A companion, Air W. ’Grombridge, descended to a house for help. When tho rescuers arrived. Air Allen was found to havo moved and slipped from the track, the dead body lying heafd down the hill. Heavv rain and a difficult track made the journey in the dark to the house arduous, taking till 10.30 p.m.
