COMMANDER BOOTH’S RETURN. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, Sept. 7. Mystery surrounds Commander Mary Booth’s return from Germany. The "official explanation is that she is one of several officials moving from one territory command to another.^ The Daily Chronicle states: “When the late General was deposed a number of officers approached him. His advice was: ‘Stick to your poet and trust in God.’ Since then Commissioner Catherine Booth has oarried on loyally as head of the women’s work, but several prominent supporters of the late General were transferred to distant appointments; General Bramwell Booth’s sister, Commissioner Booth Hellberg, who is aged 63, was told to go to South America. “Meanwhile the legal proceedings initiated by the late General are still unsettled until the Courts decide whether tho action of the High Council is legal. All. the deeds connected with the Army arc being countersigned by the executors of the will, who are Mrs Booth. Commissioner Catherine Booth and the late General’s solicitors. If the Courts decide that the High Council acted ultra vires, the sealed envelope will be opened -and the normxiee, who is understood to be Conimissioncr Catherine Booth, will be appointed legal General. A decision is impossible heforo the end ot October.”
