PLANTER MURDERED.
CRIME IN NEW HEBRIDES,
Received September 10, 10 a.m. • SYDNEY, Sept. 10. News of the murder in 'lie New Hebrides of a French planter named Chevalier reached Sydney by the steamer Makambo. Mr Chevalier was reproving two Tonkingose labourers wlrom he suspected of theft, when they attacked him and literally hacked him to pieces. . , The murderers fled into the bush and all efforts to recapture them have proved unavailing.
