LICENSING OF BUSES.

Per Press Association

AUCKLAND. Sept. 10. A decision of importance to commercial motor bus owners was given by His Honour Sir Alexander Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court when lie held that, contrary to the opinion of Mr E. C. Cutten, S.M., buses plying for hire on special occasions, such as race meetings, were actually engaged. in carrying on a “motor'omnibus service.”

The Judge ruled that even if the veh"':le made only one journey, and fares not exceeding 2s a head for a single trip were charged, the vehicle would have to conform to the licensing and other provisions laid down by the Motor Omnibus Traffic Act.
