At the Police Court to-day Kong Quing, a Chinese, who was arrested yesterday for attempting to import opium into the Dominion, was fined £l5O, or nine months’ imprisonmentCounsel said that defendant was a poor man, and had fallen to temptation ,vhen it was suggested to him in China ,r. he should bring opium to New Zealand.
