COUNTY’S REQUESTS.
ABOLITION OF RIDINGS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 11
A request for the pooling of county funds and the abolition of the riding system, where thought desirable, was made to the Minister of Internal Affairs to-day by a deputation from the Masterton County Council. Hon. P. A. de la Perelle said that as the proposal was likely to be contentious ho could not promise that effect would be given it while the present Counties Amendment Bill was before Parliament.
