A Tauranga Press Association message announces the death of Mr Janies Henry Clayton, aged 78 years, who was well known in journalistic circles. At the time of his death he was one of the oldest in the profession in New Zealand.

A Press Association telegram from Paliiatua announces the death of Mr Gerard Champion Miller, who was for many years town clerk. He was also secretary of the Fire Board and agent for the Public Trust Office. He had been confined to his bed for several weeks. His wife has been an inmate of the Paliiatua Hospital for several months past. The late Mr Miller is survived by his widow, a daughter and a son.
