DOWN THE LINE.

(From Our Own Correspondent). OTAKI, Sept. 11

The Parish Hall social on Monday night was largely attended. Mrs Killer and Mr U. Murphy won the chief prizes and Mrs Spooner and Mr D. Winterburn the consolation trophies. Songs were rendered by Mr Tobi Cray and Misti Katie liukuraia, and a Charleston dance given by Mr J. Numn. Misses Una Bull and Williams kindly supplied extras. Mrs Puliiser, of Otaki Beach, on Monday entered the Palmerston North Hoepilul for treatment.

Mr and Mrs W. D. Lambic and family have been staying at the beach for the last three weeks. Mr Lambic is the British Trade Commissioner in Wellington. Joe Webby received a nasty cut while playing at the State School, by falling ion the heel of a boot. Threo stitches were inserted in the wound.

Mr J. W. Collins, Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department, and hia wife spent the week-end golfing at Otaki, also Misa Marjorie Carey. They were delighted with the courso and will be coming again. As a finale to the hockey season a tournament will be held at Otaki on September 5.
