FORMER BRITISH MINISTERS.
IMPORTANT POSTS ACCEPTED. (British Official Wireless.) V RUGBY, Sept. 12. Four of the leading men of the Conservative Party have now accepted important posts in big business undeitakings. , „ . Lord Birkenhead, the famous lawyer, who has been Lord Chancellor and Secretary for India, holds the directorships in important companies and is chairman of the Greater London and Counties Trust, a big combine of electric power companies. Sir Austen Chamberlain, who was Foreign Minister in the last Conservative Administration, and Sir Laming Wortliing-ton-Evans, who was Minister of War, have now joined Lord Birkenhead on the board of the Greater London and Counties Trust. Sir Philip CunliffeLister, late President of the Board of Trade, has become chairman of the Tin Producers’ Association, a newlyfounded organisation, which has the support of 90 per cent, of the British tin producers, and aims at better organisation of that industry. Lord Birkenhead and Sir Laming Worthington-Evans left England for the United States to-day in the Olympic on business missious.
