RUSSIAN REVERSAL. (Australian Press Association). SHANGHAI, Sept. 13. A report from Shenyang describing the Soviet attack on Chalanor on September 10 claims that approximately 100 Chinese were killed and wounded, and estimates that between 300 and 400 Russians were slain before the Russians retreated. Soviet gunboats are reported to be active in the Amur River region. The Chinese have mined the entrance to to the Sungarijßiver. Harbin reports the wholesale arrest of Russian citizens, who have been interned. Chang Hsueh-liang, the Manchurian war lord, reports that negotiations for the settlement of the railway dispute are proceeding slowly. Hope is not yet abandoned.
