TELEVISION BROADCASTING.
BRITISH EXPERIMENTS. (British Official Wireless). RUGBY, Sept. 12. The British Broadcasting Corpora* tion has set aside half-an-liour daily for television broadcasting on the Baird system.' The transmissions will be experimental and the corporation docs not accept responsibilities for their quality or the results obtained. The object of the demonstration is to givo wider opportunity for the development of the possibilities of the system. The Baird system of television has been subjected to considerable criticism by the London wireless Press, and its success has been freely questioned. Progress in the development of the system has been lately made by Baird, the young Scottish inventor, and a company was formed some months ago to exploit it. The British Broadcasting Company has hitherto steadfastly refused to take up the 6V6tem on the grounds that it was still in the experimental stage.
