AFTER “THE DAY.”

NEW ERA IN GERMANY. For Germany, the fixing of the final date of the evacuation of the Rhineland—June 30, 1930—is the transcendent result of tlie Hague Reparations Conference, says tlie Berlin correspondent of the London Times. It was the vital aim, and now that it has been achieved, the feeling is that the country is beginning a new era. There are still misgivings regarding the financial concessions required of Germany, which the Nationalist Press described as “a disaster,” but even the Nationalists admit that when the list of Germany’s successes at The Hague is added, the total is a very considerable one.

The Foreign Secretary (Dr. Stresemann) has a substantial offering to place before the Reichstag, and it is difficult to see where his opponents can find material for a fruitful campaign against him.
