MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING. (From Our Own Correspondent). BULLS, Sept. 13. Bunnythorpo and Bulls Miniature Rifle Clubs met at Bulls on Tuesday evening in ClifFe and Romingtlon and M.M.R.A. competitions. Bulls proved superior in both sections, winning in the senior grade by 16, points and in the junior by 25 points. E. Broughton and I. Bevan both put on 158 for the winning teams, but. the other scores were a bit below par. Tho visiting teams were not strong, and E. Cox and J. Baker top-scored with 135. The men’s match with Seafield Club, arranged for Saturday, was postponed owing to tho Wanganui races. Instead, the second rounds of tho men’s championship and tho eclectic competition wero played.. On Wednesday afternoon a ladies’ bogey match was played at Bulls, the best cards reading:—Mrs Ralfe 2 down; Miss P. Pcrrett 3 down; Mrs Gotodall 4 down; Miss Goodall 4 down; and Mrs Law 5 down. Following are results of tho first round of tho ladies’ handicap championship:— Miss McKenzie beat Miss R. McKelvio, 3 up; Miss Goodall beat Miss Petrie, 1 up; Miss Thicker beat Miss Green, 1 up ion tho
21st green; Mrs Marumaru beat Miss P. Perrett, by default; Mrs R. McKelvie beat Mrs McKenzie, by default; Miss Brookio beat Mrs Mansell, 2 up; Mrs Pritchard beat Mrs Tricker, by default; Miss M. McKelvie beat Mrs Drew, 1 up. The second round of booh championships must be played by Thursday, September 19. MUSIC EXAMINATIONS. At the recent pianoforte examinations conducted by Mr Hugo Anson in Feilding for the Royal Academy and the Royal College of Music (London) the following pupils of Mr Ray R. F. Jones were successful Harold Sims, Betty Williamson, Phyllis Bailey (primary) and Mysie Anderson (elementary).
