FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Sept. 16. The friends of Airs B. Hinds, of Alain Street, will bo pleased to learn that she is now making good progress towards recovery after her recent illness. Madeline, the four-year-old daughter of Mr and Airs N. Crcsswell, of Alain Street, had the misfortune to slip and fall in the Town llall during tho afternoon session of the Horticultural Society’s show on Thursday and sustain an injury to her arm. Medical examination disclosed the fact that tho limb was fractured just above the elbow as a result of the mishap. Mr and Airs Robert Fogdon, residents of Carterton, who are well-known in Foxton, celebrated their golden wedding on Saturday, when they were tho recipients of a largo number of congratulatory telegrams. Relatives: and a few intimate friends were present at the luncheon, when the cake was cut and the toast of Air and Mrs Fogden enthusiastically honoured. Air and Airs Fogden were married at Masterton, and afterwards resided at Parkvillc, Eketahuna, where they took up a bush section and underwent the trials associated with pioneering life. Air Fogden carried tho timber for his house from the Waiwaka sawmill, having to cioss 'and recross a river. Air Fogden also resided at Pctonc and Foxton and took up his residence in Carterton about eight years ago. There are 10 grandchildren. Air Fogden has been a member of the Oddfellows’ Lodge for 50 years and he rccoivcd a congratulatory messago from tho Carterton Lodge. .
