Air Christie referred to the fact that during Air Nicholas’s term of office as secretary lie had refused to accept any remuneration and the society thought it only fitting that they should in some way show_ their appreciation of his services. Air Nicholas suitably responded and facetiously remarked that, although li’is sermons were often dry, he would take, good care not to let his pen run dry.
